What is ISO 9001:2015?
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for quality management systems, or QMS.
It sets requirements for the processes organizations use to consistently deliver products and services, meet customer expectations, evaluate performance, address problems, and continually improve. Organizations may use ISO 9001 to improve their internal quality management practices, demonstrate a structured approach to quality, or prepare for certification.
Why ISO 9001 matters to MSPs
Some MSPs pursue the standard to formalize and demonstrate the quality of their own service delivery. Others support clients that need to meet customer expectations, qualify as an approved supplier, respond to a tender, or prepare for certification.
In either case, the work extends beyond completing an assessment. Teams need to understand the requirements, maintain documentation and records, identify gaps, assign responsibility, and keep supporting evidence current.
