Outdated quoting methods slow down your sales cycle, but it’s not until you adopt a modern solution that you’ll see how much money you’ve been leaving on the table.
For Yaser Shohani, the tools he and his team used required time-consuming, manual effort that left room for errors. That was until he found the solution that would modernize their entire process: Quoter.
“It literally saves us thousands of dollars,” he said.
Yaser is the Director of TelcoCentric, an Australian telecommunications and IT company based in Adelaide. With a team of 10 people, their operations needed a flexible and centralized tool to help them move through the quoting stage to delivery and payment as efficiently as possible.
The benefits of adopting Quoter were seen in three major aspects:
Previous to Quoter, the TelcoCentric team was struggling with an older quoting tool commonly used in the Australian market, but they felt held back by its limitations. Yaser described the quoting function as archaic and said it couldn’t keep up.
The core problem was that the process was fragmented. TecloCentric used their PSA to generate proposals and develop quotes, which was quite difficult. Pulling information from one source to another and eventually to the billing system was a laborious manual task, Yaser said.
Another roadblock was that their previous quoting tool had per-user costs. So only the staff who needed it the most had access. This slowed down the quoting process since quotes were bottlenecked by limited access.
After looking at competing solutions, Yaser found Quoter, which completely elevated their quoting process.
Specifically, those benefits are:
Let’s take a look at those benefits in more detail.
“ There is not one member of the team that doesn’t use Quoter,” Yaser said.
Everyone can jump in and do what they need, without waiting for the few staff with access.
Because the templates are so easy to use, and all of the customer and pricing information is centralized, every staff member can easily use Quoter without creating bottlenecks in their workflow.
“The entire organization uses it. It’s not just proposals for new managed services or phone systems — ad hoc hardware orders across the entire client base are a critical part of the business to ensure that clients are happy and satisfied.”

But company-wide access to Quoter wasn’t the end of the story for Yaser.
SupplierSync has let them tap into their distributor’s entire catalog of items and skip the manual process.
Quoter’s SupplierSync feature lets them automatically bring in data from hundreds of suppliers globally via CSV file. TelcoCentric had access to real-time product pricing and availability, descriptions, and images from Quoter’s Product Cloud.
Before SupplierSync, if a client requested hardware that wasn’t an item in Quoter, Yaser’s team would do the entire quote via email and get confirmation over email or through a ticketing system. A time-consuming process.
Although TelcoCentric’s distributor doesn’t have an API that they can integrate with, it can generate a CSV product list that the SupplierSync feature can ingest.
“ SupplierSync has opened up the entire catalog again. It’s really nice to go from tickets and emails to do difficult quotes because we just don’t have the hardware in Quoter, to being able to pump everything through Quoter, which was always our intention,” Yaser said.
“ Having everything in one place, people can refer back to it. The client has a record of who signed for it. It’s all the way that we wanted it to be.”
Quoter’s API integrations was the big money-saver for Yaser. Alongside SupplierSync, API integrations saved them thousands of dollars in staff time creating quotes, he said.
Quoter’s expanded API functionality lets TelcoCentric build quotes in a fraction of the time. With Quoter, they can:
As Yaser said:
“ Before we had APIs, you’d hire a person to do the laborious work that integrates one system to another, so you take the quote, get the information out, and put it into the billing system manually. Having that automated, it literally saves us thousands of dollars.”
Quoter has completely evolved TelcoCentric’s quoting process to handle more complex tasks easily. The combination of API functionality and SupplierSync has become a core part of their operation.
“The API has been the biggest improvement in our Quoter experience by far. I absolutely love it and SupplierSync is just the cherry on top.”

“ If [Quoter] was to go away today, it would literally change everything to maybe five years ago in how we operate our business,” Yaser said. “It would really drag us right back down to a level I wouldn’t really like. So [the API integration] is a really great feature that they’ve added.”
For Yaser, the results speak for themselves. They’ve evolved their quoting process, saved thousands of dollars, and rescued staff time from routine, manual quoting tasks.
