ScalePad Services Marketplace (Pro)

Debuting in Lifecycle Manager is ScalePad Services Marketplace. ScalePad Services Marketplace provides one-click access to services, including ScalePad Warranty Services for servers and networking devices, and two new services: ScalePad Workstation Assurance, and ScalePad IT Asset Disposal.

Looking to purchase and extend warranty coverage, or decommission an asset at the end of its useful lifecycle? You can now do that in one place, with more to come.

veritree Partnership

ScalePad plays an important role as a key solutions provider for over 11,000 MSPs globally. In turn, our Partners manage over 500,000 SMBs, 5 million employees, and 20 million assets globally.

Lifecycle Manager empowers our Partners to oversee and take control of their clients’ asset lifecycle management, from the procurement stage to disposing of the asset with ScalePad IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) service. And with over 20 million assets managed across the globe comes all of the e-waste associated with it.

Electronic waste represents 2% of America’s trash in landfills, but it equates to more than two-thirds of overall toxic waste. That’s a bad thing.

We’ve partnered with veritree, a blockchain-verified tree planting platform, to give back and make a positive and certifiable environmental impact, and offset the effects of e-waste, on behalf of our employees, our Partners, and their clients.

How do we plan on offsetting the effects of e-waste?

For every workstation that has a warranty extended or undergoes disposition via the ITAD service in Lifecycle Manager, ScalePad will plant a tree in areas of need, including areas impacted by wildfires in North America, starting with the USA. Each pledge is verified through veritree’s blockchain verification system.

Your environmental impact will also be measured in your cart with every workstation warranty and disposition order and stored in-app for your team to track your total trees pledged over the long term.

This is just the beginning of our efforts. We’ll be expanding this program and our commitment to offsetting the effects of e-waste as we grow.

Green policies will impact the MSP industry sooner than you think

In our 2022 Business Growth Report, it was noted that 30% of MSPs say green technology and environmental policy are driving growth. Aside from being good for our planet, adopting environmental programs in a verifiable way could help your business stand out from the competition. It’s also anticipated that green policies will continue to impact the MSP industry in the coming years, so it doesn’t hurt to get started early.

We’re big on sustainability… having a recycling program, having an e-waste program, we’ve gone through that process.

ScalePad IT Asset Disposal (Pro)

ScalePad IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) is a new service found within Lifecycle Manager that enables your MSP to easily dispose of outdated, retired, or unwanted workstations in a secure and environmentally-conscious manner.

ITAD takes the once difficult and unstandardized process of workstation disposal (hello recycling runs and storage closets) and creates a scalable, standardized, and cost-effective process all in-app.

How does it work?

Whether you’ve identified EOL assets through Insights, or have planned to retire a workstation via an Initiative or Roadmap, disposing of an asset at the end of its lifecycle is easy. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to Lifecycle Manager
  2. Select ITAD *
  3. Select the workstation(s) for disposition
  4. Add the desired workstation(s) to cart
  5. Checkout and download and print your shipping label
  6. Box the workstation(s) up
  7. Schedule a pickup or find a dropoff location
  8. Rinse and repeat

Why should you use ScalePad ITAD?

Certified Disposition

ScalePad’s ITAD service protects your clients’ data and provides them with third-party validation of your services. Once an asset is disposed of through ITAD, a certificate of disposition is issued and is made available in the Lifecycle Manager app.

Data Security

Clients trust you to maintain and improve their IT environments and this extends to their data security and protection. All workstations disposed of through ScalePad ITAD have data erased to NIST 800-88 standards, ensuring clients’ private information is destroyed.

Generate Revenue While Saving Time & Money

ScalePad IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) is a new service found within Lifecycle Manager that enables your MSP to easily dispose of outdated, retired, or unwanted workstations in a secure and environmentally-conscious manner.

ITAD takes the once difficult and unstandardized process of workstation disposal (hello recycling runs and storage closets) and creates a scalable, standardized, and cost-effective process all in-app.

Environmental Compliance & Responsibility

ScalePad ITAD can help ensure that your MSP is in compliance with your county or state regulations pertaining to the proper disposal and recycling of electronic waste.

We’ll even plant a tree for every asset you put through our ITAD service.
*ITAD is only currently available in the US.

How can you use ScalePad ITAD in your workflow?

ScalePad Workstation Assurance (Pro)

We’re enhancing our workstation warranty service to better serve MSPs and their clients with ScalePad Workstation Assurance.

From procurement to service, ScalePad Workstation Assurance helps MSPs provide full replacement warranty coverage for client workstations — even for accidental damage — in one easy Lifecycle Manager in-app workflow.

You read that right: Accidental damage is now covered on all ScalePad workstation warranties.

Full replacement warranty coverage helps clients rebound from hardware failure sooner, suffer less frustration, and experience no unexpected expenses when a failure occurs.

Why the change?

We pay close attention to our feature request board in Lifecycle Manager, and accidental warranty coverage was among the most highly asked-for suggestions in the mix. So we listened.

Modern devices, notably laptops are becoming increasingly difficult to service, with some models not being reparable without specialized tools. The scarcity and limited availability of replacements due to manufacturing shortages make service even more difficult and expensive to complete.

The shift from office to hybrid and work-from-home workplace models means clients’ devices are now more mobile than ever before. The more these assets move, the higher the chance a bump, drop, or spill will happen that can end the lifecycle of the device long before due.

Additionally, accidental damage coverage isn’t typically covered by OEM warranties. It’s not a “Code Red” anymore if somebody spills a Mountain Dew on a workstation. But we still recommend advising clients to refrain from spilling anything on their devices.

What brands are covered?

ScalePad Workstation Assurance is available for over 180,000 models of workstations from most major OEMs. Clients will have peace of mind knowing they have coverage, when disaster strikes.

Is ScalePad Workstation Assurance available in my country?

ScalePad Workstation Assurance is available in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

Quickly measure and track the growth of your MSP straight from the dashboard. Track and review the number of clients your MSP serves and the count of their managed assets in real-time.

Revenue

Keep tabs on your revenue-generating opportunities available through Strategy, hardware due for replacement, overdue warranty renewals, and the total value of your clients’ managed hardware assets.

Keep an Eye on Risk

Hardware with missing endpoint protection, high-risk servers, and workstations and servers without configured backups*, and more are visible as soon as you log into Lifecycle Manager.

Not ready for a change? Easily switch between the beta and existing dashboard experience with the toggle on your dashboard.

Updated In-App Filtering

We’ve improved the functionality of the Insights, Hardware, and Software views found within your Client dashboards to provide additional filtering options and increase the amount of information accessible to your MSP.

New filtering opens the door for more customization and the ability to drill deeper into the data in Lifecycle Manager and see exactly what you want to see, and nothing you don’t. Here’s an example:

When planning a client’s upgrade path to Windows 11, use filters such as asset age, current OS, memory, and storage to generate a list of potential assets meeting the upgrade requirements. You can also add or remove any filters or columns you don’t need to clean up your view.

Additionally, you can now select an asset or multiple assets and quickly create an Initiative by clicking Add to Initiatives at the bottom of your screen.

Integration Enhancements

We’ve also added the following updates to integrations with Lifecycle Manager:

ConnectWise Automate (REST API): Add more than one instance of ConnectWise Automate to your account
ConnectWise RMM (Coming Soon!): Two-way sync support for ConnectWise RMM
Hudu: Two-way sync support for Hudu’s IT documentation tool
N-able Passportal: Added support for one-way sync back to Lifecycle Manager

Sharing Tool

Backup Radar’s dashboards are an essential tool to help monitor and address critical issues to maintain a healthy, secure environment for your clients.

We’ve added the ability to share these dashboards directly with clients and co-managed accounts with the new Share feature. The Share feature generates a URL specifically for access to your chosen dashboard. Use them to communicate risk with your clients, or share insights with your internal teams.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Integrations

We’ve also added support for Amazon Web Services (AWS) into Backup Radar:

Partners can now integrate AWS instances to Backup Radar to monitor configured backups. Fourteen AWS services are now API supported with Backup Radar. Reduce your ticket noise and get “no result” status on configured instances of:

  • Amazon Aurora
  • CloudFormation
  • Amazon DocumentDB
  • Amazon DynamoDB
  • Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS)
  • Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
  • Amazon Elastic File System (EFS)
  • Amazon FSx
  • Amazon Neptune
  • Amazon Redshift
  • Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)
  • Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3)
  • AWS Storage Gateway
  • Amazon Timestream

User Experience

We’ve enhanced the user experience with some improvements in the set up and maintenance of your Backup Radar workflows.

With upgrades like a new in-app windows manager, “Estimated Latest Delivery” status on notifications and reports, revamped Company filter on Template Rules, and the addition of a “Current State of Ticket Creation” status, moving through and visualizing data in Backup Radar is now easier.
